Mrs. Kaste’s GAP ScheduleFor the 2010 school year, the schedule has been adjusted to two periods with each teacher. In my math class students will participate in daily fact practice, new skill instruction, problem solving and a variety of real world projects for 55 minutes in the morning. Students will return to my class in the afternoon for a 40 minute social studies period that will focus on world history. This period will also be used for math review and intervention as needed. Math HomeworkStudents will have math homework every evening. The assignments should take approximately 20 minutes. Occasionally, homework will be graded. It will always be checked for completion. Homework will be given out the first day of the week and collected the last day of the week. Students can find a listing of the homework for the week and most of the problems on Google Docs. Homework HelpOpen Classroom will be offered before school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 8:00am to 8:45am. This will be in Mrs. Kaste’s Math room (20) every Thursday. In addition I am often available for help after school if students make an appointment and have a permission slip from you. Parents are welcome to call, email, or stop in with questions or concerns. Remember, we are all working together towards the education and success of your child!
